Video & Screenshare Updates – Multistream and More in Discord!

Please take note that these brand new features are only accessible through the desktop client!

You will now be able to see all of your friends’ streams in one screen, and you will be able to swiftly switch between all of your voice and video options directly within the call itself thanks to some big power-ups that have been added to Discord.

New Multistream UI

A feature that was previously hidden is now available in its entirety and has been given the name multistream. You will now have the ability, thanks to multistream, to watch many streams at the same time.

When you are in a call in a server or direct message where numerous friends are streaming, you can “Start viewing multiple streams” by pressing the eyeball icon on the relevant friend’s stream.

Note: If you click the “Watch Stream” button instead of the eyeball icon, you’ll switch to concentrating on the new stream rather than the previous one.

Video/Stream Only View

You may also select the three dots menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen, and then uncheck the “Show Non-Video Participant” option if you just want to focus on the streams and videos that your friends are sharing!

When you de-select that option, all of the participants who are only using voice chat (and not video) will be hidden from view!

Although you won’t be able to see their profile in this mode, you’ll still be able to voice call these pals and have a conversation with them.

Modifying Participant Settings

You will now be able to easily alter the Stream and Speech settings for each individual participant without having to leave the session!

The dropdown menu for options can be accessed by either right-clicking or clicking on the menu with three dots that is located in the bottom right corner of each window. You’ll be able to do the following things via the menu:

  • Stop watching a stream
  • Mute a specific user
  • Change a specific user’s stream volume

Advanced In-Call Options

You will be able to choose between the following options by selecting the Frame copy.png (arrow) icon that is located next to each of the voice call menu buttons:

  • What camera you’re using
  • Your stream quality and what screen you’re sharing
  • Your voice and audio settings
  • And lastly, which streams you’d like to stop watching

In-Call Screenshare Options

You will have the ability to make immediate modifications to your Stream Quality, including adjusting the frame rate and resolution of your stream while you are still on the call!

If you want to switch from one programme window to another, all you have to do is click the “Change Window” option to make the switch happen quickly and easily!

When you are finished watching the stream, all you have to do to stop it is pick the “Stop Streaming” option.

In-Call Voice And Audio Settings

This new menu will assist you in modifying the settings of your microphone or headset while the call is in progress, which is useful in the event that you neglected to do it before the call.

You will now have the ability to:

  • You can directly change your input and output device while the call is in progress.
  • Go into your Voice Options, make the necessary adjustments, and then jump back into the call as soon as you’re done!
