Discord Mobile App – How to Start: Setup and Features for iOS and Android

Creating an Account
- Download the Discord app on your mobile device:
- For Android devices, visit the Play Store.
- For iOS devices, visit the App Store.

- The image preview will now be reflected in your profile. If you’re happy with the changes, tap “Save” in the upper right corner to save your new avatar.

Changing Your Account Details

- To change your account details, go to your Settings and tap on “Account”.

- Make sure you type your friend’s username exactly as it’s spelled, paying attention to capitalization, as usernames are case-sensitive.
- Double-check for any extra spaces and remove them before sending the friend request.
Adding a Friend in a Server
If you’re already in a server and want to add someone you’ve befriended, you can do so by following these steps:
- Tap on the channel’s name located at the very top of the screen to navigate to the Members list.
- Find the person you want to add as a friend and tap on their username to view their profile. Alternatively, you can tap on the user’s avatar in a message to access their profile.
- Once you’re on their profile, select the “Add Friend” option to send a Friend Request.

- Enter the invite code or the last part of the invite link you received.

In addition to participating in servers, you can create direct messages (DMs) and group chats to have more personal conversations with your friends.To create a group chat:
- Tap “Messages” in the bottom row and select the New Message icon.
- Choose “New Group” and select up to 10 friends you want to include in the chat.

Expressing Yourself with Photos, GIFs, Emojis, and Reactions

Sending Photos And Files
Do you want to continue chatting but also submit a photo without having to launch the camera app on your device?
- By tapping the Add File icon located in the bottom left corner of the screen, you can instantly share a photo with your pals.
- This will allow you to view your images in the photo gallery on your device, or you may select the Camera button.
- If you want to take a picture right now, pick the Camera button to open the Camera app within the Discord client. After that, you will be able to take a picture with your camera.
- After you have taken the photo or selected the photo, you will be able to send a message to your friends along with the photo.
Sharing GIFs with the GIF Picker
Bring your conversations to life by sending GIFs using the built-in GIF Picker:
- Tap the emoji icon [😀] to the right of the message bar.
- In the Emoji, GIFs, and Stickers menu, select the GIFs tab.
- Browse the available GIFs or use the Search Tenor bar to find specific ones.
