Note: Users of Discord can anticipate seeing updates and enhancements to the Discord Android application beginning on August 1st, 2022. These updates and enhancements will include the following:
– Maintaining a consistent set of features across all supported platforms by utilising a centralised and streamlined app development process for PC, iOS, and Android

The following steps need to be taken in order to use the updated version of the Discord app: – Go to the Google Play Store in order to manually upgrade your Discord app.

Mobile Screenshare Requirements
Before you begin sharing your screen with your friends, you will need to ensure that both your device and operating system satisfy the prerequisites that are outlined in the following section.
In addition, any restrictions imposed by the applications themselves on the content that can be shared on your screen will be discussed in this section.
Supported Devices
You will now be able to screenshare from mobile devices running either the iOS or Android operating system.
Note: At this time, Mobile Screenshare is not available on any Xiaomi devices running the MIUI operating system.
OS Limitations
At this time, we enable screensharing on devices running Android 5 and above, and audiosharing on devices running Android 10 and above. Because of the limitations of older versions of the Android OS, users of those operating systems will not be able to utilise the audio share feature.
App Limitations
Although while the vast majority of apps are supported, there is a possibility that a select few apps will not enable audiosharing on Android-specific devices.
In addition, several streaming applications, such as Netflix and Spotify, do not allow users to share their screens or their audio due to limitations imposed by the applications themselves.
Note: The screensharing functionality of these streaming applications is not supported by our company.

It is necessary for you to have a role within the server that grants you video access to be able to share your screen with the server. If you do not have this permission, you will not have the ability to share your screen while you are connected to a server.
If you do not already have the Video permission for your position, you will need to contact the owner of the server or one of the other administrators to request that the Video permission be enabled (under the Voice Permissions category).
